- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with academic team members to support student-athletes off the field
- Consider athletics as part of the total educational program, encouraging athletes to work to their maximum ability in both academics and sports
- Maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (TMSAA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and students while leading the Softball Program.
- Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletes
- Develop, maintain, and promote a positive educational environment on the field and in the classroom
- Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
- Coordinate the development, promotion, and retention of the MCS Softball Program
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of the game as well as extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.
- Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
- Develop and incorporate a plan for off-season and pre-season strength training as well as promotion of a year round healthy lifestyle.
- Actively support student athlete secondary-school goals, supporting the MHS Softball team.
- Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching style
- Possess the ability to assess players and coaches effectively.
- Be willing to accept a high level of accountability.
